‘’Groove Ndio Kitu Gani’’: Willy Paul And Bahati Team Up Against Groove Awards.
Anyone who is real keen on Kenyan music scene knows that Willy Paul is Bahati’s frenemy. The two have a similar background and their musical journey makes it look like their fate is one, and there are things they tend to have in common, like their controversies and side shows.
For a record, in April 2015 Bahati came out lashing at his fellow singer, accusing him of allegedly stealing his two songs. According to the Mapenzi hit-singer, Willy Paul went behind his back and bribed producers to have access to his unreleased projects, which he has then re-recorded as his own.
It’s believed that through this their so called ‘’Beef,’’ they managed to stay on top of the game but not until last year when the groove Awards snubbed them out, and has done it the second time in row this year. The duos have not taken this lightly.
They have now teamed up to attack the groove awards. Willy Paul has dropped a new single track ‘Digiri’ which is thought to be a diss track for Groove Awards. It directly takes shots at the award as it describes how one needs no degree or an award to get to heaven….
A part in the lyrics reads…
Binguni hakuna digiri, mungu wangu hana digiri, malaika hawana digiri, Adam na Eve hawakuwa na digiri…
But the most interesting fact is that the timing of the official launch of the song almost coincides with the date which Groove award gala will be happening and which happens to be today (1st June 2017)
Mtoto wa mama (Bahati) has now offered his unwavering to the Tiga wana hit-maker, revealing that it’s a dope jam and that he’s behind his back. He actually marketed the song on his social media; to the shock of many since the two gospel singers have always been perceived as being bitter enemies.
