I’m better than them All… Willy Paul to groove
Its only two days from the Groove awards nominations. As expected, controversial gospel artist Willy Paul has taken to social media to utter his reactions.
The event that took part at the university of Nairobi Chandaria centre saw big names miss out of the list. Some of the notable names missing were willy Paul and Bahati.
Willy Paul, who arrived at UON. at around 7.15Pm in the company of Hopekid , Dk kwenye beat and Dj Mo, walked out of the auditorium minutes to the end of the event after learning that he wasn’t featured in any categories of the nominees.
This morning, Willy’s Facebook account read….. ‘’ Don’t expect them to appreciate your hard work: human beings should not be trusted. If you trust them: you will only get hurt badly… get used to being alone. Let your only option be CHRIST THE KING… Don’t let the earth and the things in it define you… You’re better than them all ’’
Born Wilson Abubakar Radido in 4 February 1993, Willy first gained recognition after recording the song Sitolia with Gloria Muliro. Hence, some of his well-known singles are are Sitolia, Kitanzi and You never Know which have earned him international fame, including a famous tour of the US where he performed in different churches in several States.
Many of his fans have rumoured that one of his biggest failure of this year, was to collaborate with Jamaica’s Reggae sensation Alaine in the song YES I DO.
He was named male artist of the year at the 2013 groove awards alongside his mentor Gloria Muliro who took the female artist of the year award. In this year (2017) his category is to be taken by the following;

- Ekko Dydda
- Guardian Angel
- Kris Eeh Baba
- Pastor Anthony Musembi
Meanwhile, his mentor (Gloria Muliro) is also missing on the female category. The nominated at her category are the following;

- Mercy Masika
- Princess Farida
- Size 8
